This extension cable is an absolute tank, built with the thick, heavy-gauge copper conductors required to safely handle continuous high-amperage AC loads up to 48A without breaking a sweat. Under a sustained 11.5 kW load for several hours, the TPE jacket remains safely warm to the touch rather than hot, showing excellent thermal dissipation and minimal voltage drop. The NACS connectors offer crisp tolerances; the native Tesla wall connector seats firmly into the female inlet, and the male end locks into the vehicle's port without any sloppy play or loose mechanical tolerances that could lead to dangerous arcing or contact resistance over time.
In everyday use, the extra 22 feet entirely removes the frustration of strict parking configurations, allowing you to easily charge pull-in or back-in across a two-car garage or driveway. The trade-off for this heavy-duty electrical protection is sheer bulk; the cable is stiff and heavy, making it a bit of a workout to tightly coil and store for travel. Additionally, note that the handle button is purely mechanical—it unlatches the pin physically but lacks the integrated RF transmitter found in OEM Tesla plugs to wirelessly pop open the charge port door. For a stationary home charging setup that demands structural reliability under full Level 2 power, this is an excellent, rock-solid remedy.

This extension cord works great with my home (48A) EVSE and portable (32A) EVSE. The markings on the jacket for the wire gauge match that of my home EVSE. The cable and connectors at either end match my home EVSE in temperature when charging after a few hours. There are no hot spots or temperature concerns at all.

The jacket appears to made of the same material as my Emporia EVSE, meaning that dragging it across the asphalt will scratch it up, but it will only be cosmetic damage. I'd expect you'd have to mistreat it to cause any real damage.

The cable came bundled with a cleaning cloth, which is super nice to have when packing this back up. I can wipe down the cable and pack it away so it still looks new. The material of the cloth is pretty easy to clean, too. I just slapped it across my pants leg a few times and it was good to go.

The rubber caps for each end are very tight, and won't be going anywhere. They seal well enough to keep anything out (and in!) while stored in the included bag. I charged my car in the rain before packing the cord away. I later went to check something on the extension cord, and when I removed the rubber cap a drop of water came out. So be sure to get everything dried out before putting it away.

The receptacle end of the extension cord has a sliding lock mechanism, which is great for preventing accidental disconnects while charging. This won't keep anyone from disconnecting it on purpose, though. The plug end does not have a functional open/close button used for Teslas. This isn't a concern for me, as my car doesn't support that feature, but it is a bit of a bummer at this price point.

In the spirit of transparency, I received a replacement cable from the seller. The first cable was packaged in the plastic wrap, but looked used. The cable was filthy, connectors filled with dirt, and rubber boots missing from both ends. I contacted the seller when the locking mechanism of my first cable failed on the first use, but didn't mention the condition of the cable. Within a day, they sent me instructions for disassembling the lock to free my EVSE cable, and mailed me a new extension cord. The process was quick and painless, and makes me feel good about the product overall. The replacement cable looked pristine.

A beefy NACS L1&2 (only) extension cable, IP54, & one limitation

This ElevoCharge 16.5 foot NACS extension table is for Teslas or other EVs that use a NACS charging connector. It comes in a nice case, and is well made and beefy, being rated for 250V/ 48A Level 1&2 AC (only) charging over an operating temperature -40 to 85C.The printing on the NACS output port says it provides Ingress Protection IP54, so dust and water splashes from any direction cannot interfere with normal operation (the manual says IP55 — a slight discrepancy). The extension cable connected and (using its slide switch) securely locked to a Tesla brand Level 2 charger NACS cable. Its output NACS connector then slid easily into the Tesla charging port, and the Tesla locked that connection.(There is a button on the extension cord’s output NACS connector, but it does not operate the door of the Tesla charge port. The manual doesn’t describe what pressing this button actually does.)The Level 1&2 charger communicates the NACS output connector temperature to the vehicle computer so it can reduce the charging current to keep the connector from getting too hot. The extension cable doesn’t communicate its output NACS connector temperature to the vehicle but instead passes through the temperature of the charger’s NACS connector, which is located 16.5 ft away. If one connector is in the shade but the other is in direct sunlight, their temperatures could be very different. So you may need to manually check the temperature of the cable’s output connector and lower the current if you think it is getting too hot. This NACS extension cord is well made and does a good job extending the reach of a non-moveable Level 1&2 NACS AC charger, which can be very convenient. Ideally it would communicate the temperature of its own NACS output connector, which is why it doesn’t get five stars.Note: Before buying this, check your vehicle manual to see if using a NACS extension cord affects the vehicle warranty.

Great extension for your tesla charging cord, but loss of Charging Port buttons is disappointing

I was excited to try this extension out on our Tesla Model Y. We have a Tesla installed Wall Connector which provides provide up to 11.5 kW / 48 amp output. This charger extension will allow us to charge cars parked on the street next to our house without having to park directly in the driveway.Unfortunately, when I connected the extension to our wall charger plug, the button on the extension's handle did not work to open the charge port on our vehicle. I did wait the "30 seconds" before I attempted it, but it still did not work. I had to use the app to open the charging door. However, I was very pleased to see that, once plugged in, it was able to provide the expected rates of charge with no loss of charge rate. (See screenshot of charging while using the extension. )Once I was finished with charging, I was reassured to find that the extension cord and handle were not noticeably warm to the touch. I tried to use the button again to disengage the charging port, but it flashed like it was allowing it, but then the charging indicator led turned red and it remained locked. I used the app again to unlock the port.Another problem that I had was when I went to separate the extension from the wall connector. I could not get it to budge. Apparently, the cord lock had been engaged, but the indicator read "OPEN". When it is unlocked, it reads "LOCK". It can be interpreted both ways, but I am sure you can find another way to phrase it to make it less ambiguous.

I have a Tesla Model Y and wanted an extension cable primarily for those situations where a charging source is available, but my car simply can’t get close enough to it. This gives me considerably more flexibility when visiting relatives and could also be very useful at certain wired campsites where the location of the electrical hookup isn’t necessarily convenient for parking an EV.

So far, it has worked exactly as expected. The connectors and cable feel substantial and well constructed, and nothing about it feels flimsy or cheaply made. For something carrying this amount of power, I appreciate that the entire assembly has a solid, reassuring feel.

The 22-foot length adds meaningful reach without leaving me with an absurd amount of cable to deal with afterward. I also appreciate the protective covers on the connectors, particularly since I’ll be keeping this in my vehicle between uses.

The included storage case was another pleasant surprise. It’s soft rather than unnecessarily bulky, keeps the cable contained and organized, and once everything is packed away it takes up a very reasonable amount of cargo space. That’s important to me because I want this available when I need it without having a huge case permanently occupying my vehicle.

This isn’t necessarily something I’ll use every day, but that’s exactly why I like having it. It solves those occasional charging situations that could otherwise become a real inconvenience. For my Model Y, it’s a very practical piece of equipment to keep in the car, and I’m impressed with the quality. Good value for the money and easy to use. High recommendation.

NACS Extension Cord That Adds Reach Without Slowing Charging 🔌⚡

Overview: A 22ft NACS extension cord rated up to 48 amps, built for Tesla and other NACS EVs to add reach between the charger and the car.I've used this extension cord a few times to reach a car parked farther from the wall connector. It handles up to 48 amps at 240V, which supposedly covers most Level 1 and 2 charging without slowing things down, though I haven't tested it against every NACS charger out there to confirm that 🔌 The shell is a "PC+ABS" plastic with an "IP55 waterproof rating," and it's held up fine sitting outside through some rain. One thing worth noting, the button on the connector doesn't actually disconnect power, you have to stop the session through the app first, which caught me off guard the first time I tried unplugging it like a normal cord. This works fine and the value is pretty good for the length and power rating you get. It comes with a storage pouch that straps to the back seat, handy since the cord is bulkier than a regular extension cord 🚗 One tip, keep the dust covers on the ends when it's not in use, it helps the connection stay clean for the next charge ⚡

Works great!

DISCLAIMER, all of vine reviewers were provided with 16ft version and it seems that the item is not available now. I am not sure if this is switch tactic to have some reviews to start without actually providing the community with the actual 22ft or 33ft to test but please note that vine reviews are made for 16ft version as was provided. I measured over 17ft from end to end including the connection so it is roughly 16 ft of electric cord. Also note that this is only for level 1 and level 2 charging. This is not compatible with DC fast charging or also known as Supercharging which uses 400V -1000V which this is not rated to handle. This is a NACS (North America Charging Standard) extension as oppose to J1772 which is widely used elsewehere and even on older electric cars before Tesla charging network has gain traction. The receiving end has a lock at the bottom but has to be manually placed and is not a key-lock so if you are worried someone will steal this or the very least disconnect it to piss you off, then this might not be for you. It should be able to reach you across few parking spots or what I bought this for, to extend my charging range to outside of my garage in case for visitors or if I have some project inside the garage. The charging end has a button that does not work. Tried it multiple times but it does not let you open the charging port when pressed and to stop and release the charger when connected to the port. Might have been my mistake but I did tried multiple times. Most charger extension does not have this function so I am not sure if they were just using aftermarket charging connection and did not bother to cover the button. it was able to work for 40Ah which is my setting at home. I have a feeling it will be ok for up to 48Ah as most level 2 is capped to that level as the cable itself is thick and also has the same flexibility as the original charger. I did not received the dust caps as advertised but it did come with a bag and soft cloth for cleaning and it will stay there when not in used so I have no use for dust caps. It also has great similarity to OEM so its connections should prevent most dust and debris to get in. Just be careful in the rain as I cannot attest that the initial connection can resist water especially if it is placed on the ground.Highly recommended.

It works for Tesla model Y.

For Tesla owners and anybody else with a NACS-equipped electric car who needs a little extra reach while charging, the NACS EV Charger Extension Cable is a useful addition. It is a handy option when your charging station is not quite close enough to your parking spot because it works with Teslas and cars with NACS. Its capacity to produce up to 11 kW of charging power at up to 48 amps at 240 volts is one of its greatest features. This makes your Level 2 charger perfect for residential garages, driveways, and trips since you can increase the charging distance without compromising the quick charging performance it offers. Durability is a key consideration in the construction of the cable. The insulation provides an additional degree of protection, and the robust housing seems well-made. It is made to function dependably in rain, snow, heat, or freezing temperatures and has an IP55 weather-resistant classification. When the cable is not in use, dust covers on both connectors also aid in maintaining clean charging connections. It is easy to set up. Simply attach your NACS charger to the extension cord, give it a half-minute, and then plug it into your car. It is crucial to keep in mind that the connector's button is merely ornamental and does not unlock the charging lock. The manufacturer makes it very clear that you must end the charging session via the Tesla app before unplugging the wire. The supplied storage pouch is another well-considered feature that makes it simple to store and move the cable.A stunning nylon storage bag and a sturdy microfiber towel are also included. It is simple to read and adhere to the directions. In addition to having dust caps on both ends to keep junk out of the electrical connections, the molded plugs on either end are ergonomically shaped and incredibly comfortable to hold. This EV charger extension wire, which costs less than $100, is an affordable way to increase your charging possibilities. This charger extension, which is just over 16 feet long, is long enough to extend your charger to where you need it, whether you are using it at home or on the road. It can be conveniently stored in the trunk or under any seat in your car, so you always have it with you. I have a lot more parking options thanks to its 16.4-foot length, and the cable seems sturdy but manageable. My car is fully charged at 48A without any problems. The wire barely faintly warms to the touch while charging, which is perfectly typical. The vehicle-side connector's release button is one feature that I particularly value. I always had to unlock the charging port from my phone or from inside the car before unplugging it because my old extension cable lacked one. Unplugging is more quicker and more convenient when the button is integrated into the connector.

Good for non-supercharger Tesla extension, but could be better

Sometimes, my Tesla is just a little bit too far from a charger, whether it's a regular outlet that I'm plugging my level 1 charger into or a friend's level 2 charger. A regular extension cord isn't safe, because the amount of power produced by even a level 1 charger is too much for a normal extension cord. This is a good solution - it's a hefty cord with male and female tesla charging ends, so I can plug the female end into my friend's level 2 charger or into my own level 1 and get another 16 feet of cord to work with. It's rated for 11 kW of power at 48A and 240V, which means it is compatible with level 1 and 2 Tesla chargers.Note that this cable is NOT compatible with Tesla superchargers and could potentially be unsafe to use with one, and I would recommend against using an adapter to use this with a J1772 charger - those can have up to 19 kwh, and the manufacturer's materials do not discuss J1772s.My main complaint is that the power button doesn't work to open or unlock the charging port, which requires that I use the console or app to unlock. It's not a major problem, but it is a downer.

Great extension cord to charge your Tesla!

The NACS EV Charger Extension Cable is a practical accessory for Tesla owners and anyone with a NACS-equipped electric vehicle who needs a little extra reach while charging. It’s compatible with Teslas and NACS-equipped vehicles, making it a convenient solution when your charging station isn’t quite close enough to your parking spot. One of its biggest advantages is its ability to handle up to 48 amps at 240 volts, delivering up to 11 kW of charging power. This means you can extend your charging distance without sacrificing the fast charging performance your Level 2 charger provides, making it ideal for home garages, driveways, or traveling. The cable is built with durability in mind. The sturdy housing feels well made, and the insulation adds an extra level of safety. With an IP55 weather-resistant rating and it’s designed to perform reliably in rain, snow, heat, or freezing conditions. Dust covers on both connectors also help keep the charging contacts clean when the cable isn’t in use.Setup is simple. Just connect your NACS charger to the extension cable, wait about 30 seconds, and then plug it into your vehicle. One important detail to remember is that the button on the connector is decorative and does not release the charging lock. You’ll need to stop the charging session through the Tesla app before disconnecting the cable, which is clearly explained by the manufacturer.Another thoughtful addition is the included storage pouch, making it easy to keep the cable organized and transport it in your vehicle. It’s especially useful for road trips, camping, or anyone who frequently charges in different locations.Overall, this NACS extension cable is a reliable, well-built accessory that provides added flexibility without compromising charging performance. Its solid construction, weather resistance, and compatibility with Tesla and other NACS-equipped EVs make it an excellent choice for drivers who occasionally need extra charging distance.
